Visco-Morphic Gel

Frequently asked questions

1. Can I color the gel myself?
Answer: Yes. Ordinary food coloring found in a grocery store can be used to tint the gel. Add a few drops then kneed it in. While you are mixing you might want to wear rubber gloves or else your hands could become stained from the food coloring.Once the color is mixed into the gel, it will not stain hands or clothing.

2. Can I make the gel thinner so that it drips more?
Answer: Yes. You can add a small amount of distilled water to the gel but be careful; if you add too much, the gel will become too thin and watery. If you want to thin down a gallon of gel, you should only add a tablespoon of water at a time. Kneed the water into the gel then determine if you need to add more. If so, add another tablespoon and kneed it in. Don't add too much!

3. What if I make the gel too thin. Can I fix it?
Answer: Yes. You will have to pour the gel onto a clean flat surface such as a counter top or glass top table then allow some of the water to evaporate. You can speed up the process by blowing air past the gel with a fan as you kneed it with your hands. If you put a lot of water into the gel this could take a long time but it will work.

4. What if the gel is left out of it's container for a long time and it becomes too thick?
Answer: add a little bit of distilled water to it until it returns to a usable consistency. Again, don't add too much water.

5. Can I apply the gel to my skin?
Answer: Yes. The gel is non-toxic. Some residue may be left of the skin even after the gel is removed so you should wash afterwards with warm water and soap.

6. How do I get this stuff out of my hair?
Answer: Visco-Morphic Gel is completely water soluble. Simply rinse it out with water.

7. Can I pour the gel down the drain to dispose of it?
Answer: Since the gel is water soluble, you could pour it down the drain and wash it down with a lot of hot water but it is recommended that you dispose of this material by putting it in a container and tossing it in the trash.

8. How long will the gel last?
Answer: Unopened, Visco-Morphic Gel has at least a1shelf life. Once you open it, it depends on how much bacteria get into it. Bacteria from your hands or anything that the gel comes in contact with will contaminate the material. Although there is an anti-bacterial in Visco-Morphic gel it is still recommended that you do not mix used gel with new. Keep them seperate.

9. Can I eat Visco-Morphic Gel
Answer: Although the material is non-toxic it is not meant to be taken internally. If you get some in your mouth, you can rinse your mouth and there will be no problem. If for some strange reason you choose to eat a quart of the gel the only predictable problem that you might have is diarrhea. Basically, Visco-Morphic Gel is not food. Do not eat it!!

10. Can I freeze the gel to keep it fresh?
Answer: No. Do not freeze this material. Doing so will make it unusable.

11. What happens if I use the gel on a hot summer day; will it melt?
Answer: It won't melt but it could become stickier and thinner. If this happens, simply return the gel to its container and store in a cool area (~72 degrees F) for a while.

12. What if I get some of this stuff on my cloths?
Answer: Rinse it out with warm water. If it dries on your clothing, soak the garment in warm water for an hour then wash in the wash machine as usual. If it dries on a "dry clean only" fabric, consult your dry cleaner.
